Imposter!

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

This is why you need to sign up for every service twice, once with your actual name and once with another pseudonym that doesn’t affect family / career prospects… some imposter has nicked darrenwatt on bebo.

Sigh

Sigh

As you can see, this one’s not quite as good looking although seems similarly good at partys.

His bebo profiles here, the only thing that worries me is he might sign up for more stuff using my username which is annoying. Mind you, he’s scared of ‘not a lot’, that worries me too.

I’m scared of a lot, including pretenders stealing my #1 google ranking, and spiders.

Ok, old app

Right, I’ve been so busy with work I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing, let alone having time to blog stuff. The only thing worth blogging this week is that I found a screensaver for windows called Slickr, which you can use to show your flickr collection on your latop assuming you don’t have the photos on your laptop already which you probably do… so, playing with the settings a bit more means that you get ANY new photos uploaded to the flickr service recently by anyone, which is great for just looking at random internet photos.

“Who’s dog is that?” “I don’t know”

“She’s nice, who’s she?” “I don’t know”

Marvellous.

Twitter - Getting more rubbish

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Dammit, you find something useful and then it stops being quite so useful - Which bit? Twitter, used to let you receive updates from people you were following by SMS text, which was handy when you worked out how to stop them and only get specific updates from people you actually wanted to receive updates from.

Now they’ve stopped it unless you want to pay for the service. Fair enough I guess, but I doubt too many people want to pay to receive these random updates. Nice, but not essential. Much like Jelly Tots.
